If it has a pad it's not original , they only put Pads on magnums . Seems like they did make a limited number of ADLs with 20" Barrels in the early 60s IIRC 1

So anyone know how many of these 20" (Carbines as some call them) were made in .270?

    Idea of value?

I know these were only made two years, 30-06 was the most prevalent.

    UPDATE FROM REM SOCIETY:

Apparently all standard caliber 700's from the 1st two years of production only came in 20" barrels.

is your 6mm marked "6mm Magnum" ? i bought one when i was in Japan, 1963ad it was marked 6mm Magnum. i sold it several years later to buy a Sako .243 Win. then many, many years later gave it to my son.
