Colt search

For the last several years I have been searching for a Colt Police Positive Special third issue(1947-1976) with a six inch barrel. The books(blue book of used gun values,old Shooters Bible) say they were made. I even called the Colt historian but he could not confirm that any six inch guns were produced. Has anyone actually seen a third issue gun with a six inch barrel?

  I just bought a Colt PPS with a 6" barrel. Not sure which issue it is.

  "The Book of Colt Firearms" by Wilson, on page 387 states that the PPS Model revolver was made with a 6" barrel, among other sizes.
  It does not show a photo of the gun. However, a Police Positive 22 Target revolver (which has a similar appearance) with a 6" barrel is shown on page379.

  The front sight on first and second issue guns is a half moon shape. On the third issue guns the back of the front sight is flat. I have seen many first and second issue guns with 6" barrels but never a third issue gun.
