Kel-Tec PMR-30
I searched for info on the Kel-Tec PMR-30 on this forum and came up with a 1 yr. old thread discussing mostly ballistics.
I would like to get one. Went to Cabellas and they told me they canceled their order for the gun because of too many feed and extraction issues.
Emailed Kel-Tec and they said "after a brief" re-work with the pistol they had resolved all the issues and started production again and are having a hard time keeping up with demand.
Has anyone recently bought and shot one? Comments on reliability and any problems experienced since the "re-work" appreciated.
Thanks

Any experts have any thoughts on the upcoming Kel-Tec PMR-30?
It's got some cool technology (blowback/locked-breech system) (30 rounds)0 -
They are real hard to come by now. The only two I have actually seen were in the hands of scalpers who were trying to sell them at 2 to 3 times the actual MSRP price, which is in the neighborhood of $325. You might go to the Rimfire Central site, where they are a very popular subject. A number of posters on that site actually own them and have shot them extensively. The comments are generally positive, except for the price of the ammo and the muzzle blast from the short barrel. If you get your hands on one be prepared for ammo sticker shock if you want to do a lot of shooting. Also although the .22 Mag is quite a bit hotter cartridge then the .22 LR from a rifle. The short barrel of the KelTec pistol causes it to loose substantial velocity. The 40 grain bullet is only 100 FPS hotter then the CCI .22 LR velocitator from the same length barrel. 0 -

Heck, I think the muzzle blast is part of the attraction for a lot of people, the same sort who shoots Tokarevs and CZ 52s, they LIKE the loud bang.0 -
I don't have first hand experience, but a friend of mine (who is a highly experienced shooter) got one less than two months ago and had so many problems with it jamming, he sent it back.
He found out from the dealer later that they were plagued with loading and cycling issues.
Anyway, I'd assume this was the non-reworked model, though I don't know that for sure.0 -
I took rufe's suggestion and went to the Rimfire site...looked at the posts and got the info I needed. I will still get one but will wait for supply to catch up with demand.
Thanks for the replies gents...Hawk Carse you got it[:D]0 -
While you're waiting check out Excel Arms Mp-22.Longer barrel ,less mag capacity.22 Mag needs more barrel. 0
