Savage 22hp 'signed' Stewart Edward White

I have a Savage 22hp signed by Stewart Edward White.
Anyone have an idea what I should do to sell it?

    When you say it's signed, how do you mean that is his name engraved or?

    Engraved under the receiver. I should take a picture huh.

    A picture would be a good idea.

    With any firearm purported to belong to a famous person what is needed is to establish a provenance. There are several ways to do this such as documenting all the owners from SEW to you. Another way would be to get a factory letter that might show who the original owner was. You could also look for the rifle in his writing, he wrote a lot on hunting and shooting.

    Stewart Edward White was very well known not only for his books but his hunting. I'm not sure his name is a household name nowadays

    Let's start with the history you know of the rifle and a few good pictures. SEW died in 1946.

    Thanks MP; he was a hunting friend of my great uncle and it was a gift I think. I will try to find the documentation. It's around here somewhere. [famous last words]

    I heard somewhere he originated the Andy Burnett character.
