Stevens 22 410

A family member passed and left me a Stevens 22 410 with the Tenite stock & forearm. I would love to get this old gun fixed so that my son can hunt with it. The gun needs the selector and button replaced and the rear sight is missing. The tenite stock is also broken. My 3 questions:

1. Tenite stocks seem impossible to find so I'm wondering if a Savage 24 wood stock & forearm will fit the Stevens.

2. Can someone direct me to instructions and/or pics of how to replace the selector and button? I have what I think is the correct selector and button, just need instructions on replacement.

3. Where can I find a drawing of the rear site? My sight is missing and I have no idea what this looks like.

    Stock from a Stevens 94 and Savage 220 should also fit if they are from a .410.

    The selector button and linkage are obsolete and impossible to find when you break it. You need to find a new hammer for a 22 - 410 with the selector on the hammer. The hammer with the selector switch on it will work in the older guns with the button on the side, but there is a difference in the hammers for the 22 - 410's and the 30 - 30 over 20ga. so be sure you get the correct one.

    Your gun, I understand, either predates the Savage 24, or was produced concurrently as a lower-priced version of the Savage. In any case, the Savage wood stocks may fit, although fitting will probably be required. Tenite stocks were not uncommon just before, during and after WW II.

    In any case, Savage 24 parts; even the side selector, are available.

    Thanks for the info. Does anyone out there have a pic of the rear sight mounted on a Stevens 22 410 gun? The top of my barrel has a notch cut out. I have a ramp and sight blade but I don't think it's the correct parts.

    The part you need is being made new by somebody that auctions their stuff on E-xxy. I bought on and it worked perfectly for my 24 22-410

    I also have a Stevens .22/.410 combo, but with a wooden stock. Funny thing mine was also missing the selector button, screw and also the rear sight. I know I purchased the selector button and screw from e-gunparts (Numrich) for under $15 shipped. It may be cross referenced with the early Savage model 24's, you may have to call them and ask. Anyway the parts fit perfect and function fine. The sight I do believe I also purchased from them also but not positive it has been a few years. The sight did not work due to someone filing the dovetail a little wider in the past. The tenite furniture could get a little expensive to replace.
