Another from me! I have found other guns that look exactly like this but say nothing in regard to model or year made. Any clue anyone? Thanks as always for being to helpful! Got a few more to share!

    DA Pocket Army.
    This was a ruster that was cleaned up and engraved to obscure it's condition.

    The Pocket Army was larger, .44 caliber. It's the medium frame double action made 1880s. The engraving looks like the original M.H. style, and someone probably buffed off the rust to show the engraving better, which destroyed what collector value it may have had.

    Thanks so much. I found a super nice one on GB. Crazy that a gun can look that good and be nearly 130 years old.

    On 2nd look at the cylinder of yours, I believe it's the pocket size 5-shot and not the medium frame 7-shot .32

    Yes you're correct. It's the small frame if 32 and medium frame if 38.
    The grips are ivory but the gun has been engraved after a lot of corrosion was buffed out.
    If you examine some of the curved surfaces that should be square you will see engraving.

    It's marked .32 Cal on left frame.

    The medium frame was also made in 7-shot .32 Long caliber, but they are marked "32 Cal 7 SHOT" on frame.

    The engraving is very typical of the MH&Co factory "pin punch" engraving style, which was popular in the 1880's.

    If you refer to Phelps book,you will see that this is in fact the Merwin Hulbert small frame 5 shot .32 with factory engraving.Made sometime in the 1880's. Even with some buffing,IF it functions correctly,it's worth at least $500 to $800. You can list it here if you choose to sell.
