Sept or Oct 1957 according to my interpretation of data in The Rifleman's Rifle. 0 -
I have a rig similiar to yours. My 70 is a standard weight, made in 1953 and with the Weaver KV in an older "thick & thin" ringed Redfield mount. As you say, those old Weavers are interesting. That KV was Weaver's first foray into variable scopes. According to Stroebel's book, the KV was made 1950-1964 so it is period to your rifle. My rifle will average 1.13" with a couple of different handloads. I doubt if I could shoot it any better if it had a brand new Leupold on it! Congrats on your "new" rifle and good luck with it. 0 -
Congrats. I have a 70 in 270 from 52 with a Weaver KV on it. A beautiful gun and even at the range the tacticools like to look at it. Enjoy. 0
