    Well several things.

    Fist off it only has 3/5 rating, not bad but not good either.

    Second you are not going to be going prone with this thing most likely.

    Third doesnt say who makes it.........

    Fourth if you read a lot of the info out there on mags and why they are the size they are you will see that most designers found by going over 30rd decreased reliability in a "straight" mag (not drums, ect). I know there are other mags out there over 30 rd, but still

    On the good note though Brownells is great about taking stuff back so you can buy with no worries.

    I'd be leery.

    I can't say specifically why this is, but there seems to be some sort of issue with AR/M16 magazines which have a capacity greater than 30 rds.

    Over the past 4+ decades there have been many manufacturers of greater than 30 round capacity M16/AR magazines, but out of all these there's only been one which has earned a reputation for reliability.

    These old Sterling made 40 rd. magazines produced for the Armalite 180 now command a premium price.

    MagPul - which has a strong reputation for it's reliable 30 rounders - is reportedly introducing a 40 round magazine sometime this year. If you're hankering for a larger than 30 rounder, I'd suggest waiting and checking one of these out.

    I would not buy them, not with the rating their getting. 3 of 5 reviewers said they suck. All seemed to have the same problems.

    I have several 40 rounders I bought years ago that work flawlessly. I use them a lot for 3-gun matches. There is a company making a 75 rounder that is the same length as a 30. It might be Magpul.

    I can't recall the name, but a seller on Brownells markets an add on to PMags that takeit from 30 to 48 rounds. I've tried them, I'm 6'5" tall and the darn things are just too unwieldy. They did function though.

    What are the Sterling 40rd. mags selling for now [?]
    I have two new ones I've never used.

    I have C-mag stainless steel 40 rounders, they work good if loaded to about 37 per mag. they run about 15$ apeice. The length verses benefit is questionable IMHO.

    Surefire is now makeing a triple stack 60 round mag that would seem to be more useful considering the relative ergonomics of longer box mags.

    Surefire also is making a triple stack 100rd. mag [;)]
