Yes it is but looks to be priced a little high to me, especially with that scribble on the Rt side of it.

Not a Colt expert- but Gun Traders Guide lists the Police Positive SECOND Issue as being introduced in 1973. There is ONE listed on the BATFE C&R list by serial number (but not this one)

What do YOU folks make as a date of manufacture on this one? Does not look like it makes the 50 year mark to me- but I repeat- am NOT a Colt expert.

The lack of a bid confirms that the price is to high. I don't know if it was a factor in lack of bidding but the revolver is a Police Positive Special, not a Police Positive.

If that's the case, it is not C&R eligible. I can't quite make out the serial number but if it's 858175, it was made in 1964.

would say no to the c&r question. and price is high. colt police positives and guns like model 10 smiths just dont bring that much. they have to be in pristine condition

I agree that its priced too high and that its a Police Positive Special as Police Positives were not made in .38 Special.

The serial number might be 358175 which puts it as made in 1928. Since it has a square butt and not round it must have been made prior to about 1933 as that is when Colt changed to the round butt.

Since it appears to be a pre-1933 gun it would be a C&R and would be OK for sale to Calif.

C&R handguns CAN be sold to Calif. They just need to go thru an 01 FFL.

second issue is not C&R. I bought one last year for $300 LNIB. This guy thinks this is a fantasy site with that price.

Second issue is way over 50 years old, how can it not be a C&R?
