Krag Carbine
I have a Carbine with the saddle bar and ring thats in nice shape but someone before i got it put a recoil pad on it and in order to do so they cut the stock off straight and sanded it down to meet the size of the pad.[:(] Im thinking i could reshape a Krag buttplate (grind down )and install it making the stock a little shorter and smaller than original. But i could get a new made stock and install that,or i could wait maybe years to find a original saddle ring carbine stock thats not trash. What would you do ?

They're nice people and carry a lot of Krag parts. Maybe they have a carbine stock on hand.0 -

As far as I can find out, Krag-Jorgensen rifles did not come with a saddle bar and ring. 0 -

Krag carbines had saddle rings except for the Model 1899.

You have some fine rifles. I have a Model 1899 as well and no saddle ring. I believe that's when the military decided the boot scabbard was good enough. 0
