9mm largo Vs 9mm Steyr
now what would be a reason i couldn't shoot 9mm steyr in my 9mm largo, i know fiochi and hornady make it.

I have a Star in 9 Largo and a Steyr in 9 Steyr. The Steyr ammo works in the Largo but not the other way around. It's been a while since I fired them so I don't remember exactly why. The Largos either wouldn't feed or wouldn't fully chamber in the Steyr. Anyway, since I have reloadable cases for both guns, I keep them separate. 0 -

Simple answere is "not adviseable". This interchangeability in the Astra 400's etc. was meant to be a last resort measure. Some other militaries guns fired rounds the 400 would also chamber, so it was seen as something of an advantage in case you could only lay hands on their ammo. Also, only 400's in extreemly good condition should be considered candidates for interchanging; thats a very relative thing! The Steyr round is 9 x 23 whereas the largo is about the same. I assume you are looking to use the Fiocchi Steyr. I have some experience with it in a Seyr Hahn and it worked fine; then again those are pretty tough guns. I would try to get some Largo srplus and avoid the possible headaches. 0 -
9mm Steyr is 9x23 but a straight case, close to a rimless .38 Super.
9mm Largo is a 9x23 with a tapered case, very close to 9mm Para at base and mouth.
Although there was the guy who said he preferred to load for his Steyr with Starline 9mm Super Comp brass, which has the same taper as Largo.0 -
the Star Model A i have dose chamber and lock with the 9mm stayr.
pressure wise i think largo is 2,000-3,000 PSI more0
