finish on springfield 67b

Can anyone tell me the name of the finish on my 67b. It is grey and looks like a bad paint job, kinda splotchie looking. I've had conversations with many at gun shows and they say it was not original although I've had the gun since new and that's the way it came..thanks

  What you describe sounds like Color Case Harding if you have had it since new. But I don't really know without seeing pictures . There are a number of STICKY post on the top of this forums topics one of them is how to post pictures.or do a smart search on "Colt Case" this will bring up a number of colt pistols with case color frames or go directly to item # 220335954 and look at all the pictures of this item.

  probably just a bad blueing job, these were 'low end' shotguns and 'anything to get them out the door'.
