    There was a spam-bot thread in the forum early in the morning. GB has a program that is supposed to kill those things but this one looked legit enough for it to slip through and stay on the boards. It was posted at 8:30 AM EDT but I don't even get out of bed until 9 AM west coast time, which is high noon back east, so it was up here for a while before I deleted it.

    The moderators did NOT 'let the trolls in' all. It was simply a matter of timing, that's all. I was on and off between 5:00am - 5:30am so the spammer slid in between all of us. And as Mark points out, the post was not picked up as usual by the bot tasked with this problem.

    Bear in mind that none of the moderators live on this forum 24 hours a day and some of us have real jobs which occupy a significant number of hours every day of the week. So, the potential of this happening on very rare occasions is high. Most of time either the bot handles it or one of us picks it up and throws it out.

    This should be filed under the heading of:

    STUFF HAPPENS!

    I am feeling a little let down about missing Paris... yet again.
