S&W Bodyguard 380 safety

My 80 year old dad just purchased a S&W Bodyguard 380. The gun is real tight and the safety is hard for him to work. Anything I can do as a novice to losen that up? Thanks

  A drop of oil and work it. You don't want it too loose. It may come off when just bumped.

  OIL is your friend on all moving parts. Most new guns come completely DRY.

  Also work the saftey a good bit.

  I bought one and it was dry. Have him strip it and oil everything then work the saftey (make sure it is unloaded)and it will loosen up quit easy
