Can a kimber 84 be rebored to 243 from 223?

I looked it up for you. I don't know if it is physically possible in that particular action, but if it were,
At Delta Gun Shop/Clearwater Reboring...
Rebore and rechamber barrel $425.
Open bolt face for larger rim $165*.
Modify magazine for different round $75 PER HOUR.
*Their standard to magnum fee, I assume .223-.243 to be the same.
So a cost of $665 MINIMUM.0 -

Even if it could be done, when the day comes to sell it you'd never come close to getting back what you put into it. The '84's carry some decent collector value, much of which would go out the window with those modifications.0 -

I think it CAN be done, but its going to run at least a few hundred bucks to do it. Rebarreling might be more practical than reboring.
Either way, doing a conversion like this would make more sense if you wanted to create a Kimber in a caliber that wasn't readily available.
In this particular case, Kimber 84s in .243 are available already. In fact, there are three of them listed right now for sale on the auction site from $950-1000. (Edit, OK, those appear to be new production, but the general point remains).
So as Mobuck suggests, it would probably be a good bit less costly to sell the one you have and buy a .243 just like it. (Or buy, then sell).
Since the two guns are worth roughly the same amount of money, the swap shouldn't cost you very much, and if you're lucky, you might even break even or come out a hair ahead!0
