found an MG08 lock?
soo.. a long time ago my grandpa gave me this hunk of metal off a gun. It was passed down from my great great uncle who was a vickers machine gunner in WWI and until now i had no idea what it really was... i was watching a tv show and i saw it in the background beside a old Maxim machine gun so i did research and found its from an mg08 i think.. is it worth money? its like rust free and still has blueing all over it. and what does it even do? i dont know how to post an image..

Without seeing a picture of it, its hard to tell what you have, but I'll take a WAG. It could be the locking mechanism for the T&E (traverse & elevation). 0 -
