Sig 1911 parts
I am looking to buy a 1911 and am especially interested in one of the sig 1911s but am wondering if all the aftermarket parts will fit it like an American made or is it like some other guns where certain brands of a particular model are just different enough that nothing else works with them.

When the first issue SIGARMS GSR (1911) pistols came out - they were fitted with "custom" made parts from a variety of domestic custom parts producers. The idea, as stated in SIG's advertising, was to produce a "high-end" custom 1911 with a lower price. ALL parts in those were compatible with parts from any other parts manufacturer - with only minimal or no hand fitting as is customary with commercial 1911s.0
