LINKS Remington, light, .243Win, detachable mag...
As stated in the Thread Subject....
What options do one have, to find a :
Remington rifle - Links.!!
Caliber .243Win
Got to be light (not varmint or heavy contour battel)
Preferably have a detachable magazine.
WITH "LINKS" I MEAN LEFT-HAND VERSIONS !
I know that these are made in links
Remington 700 CDL
Remington 700 XCR
Remington 700 SPS Compact
Remington 700 Synthetic
Remington 700 Varmint
XCR, Synthetic and Varmint are not options as they are either not available in .243Win - or has heavy contour barrel.
Are there any other Remington's in links and .243Win - that has or can be rebuilt to accept detachable magazines. ???

Mr. Nanoq,
Sounds like your ideal gun would be the Rem M788 in 243 Win.
Although they have been out of production since 1983, they do turn up on the auction side from time to time.
Jim
Edit:
EXCU-U-U-U-USE ME for misunderstanding your question!
try info@remington.com & they will know it they currently make what you are wanting. Also maybe ask about dealers on your side of the pond while you have them on-line.
Hope this helps, Jim0 -

Just looking for information - not a specific gun on some auction site.!
And as it will be a rifle which will be bought in Denmark - I guess it might need to be a MODERN rifle, not something that's out of production and sometimes every now and then turns up on an auction site.
Just looking for possibilities :
What MODERN PRODUCTION Remington (left hand) links-rifle, of the non Heavy-contour barrel type is out there - which has or can be rebuilt to accept detachable magazines.?!?!?!?
That's all I want to know.!!
Offcourse GB is a possibility - but look at the auction-settings, most will not do exports, and if you're lucky enough to win the auction - you'd be DARN lucky if the companies listed as exporters... will actually export a gun.!0 -

I guess since your are 'out of country' to me, there might be a terminology issue. They don't call left-handed 700's LINKS. I thought you wanted a 'link' to a DM rifle. FWIW, they do make THAT model in Left-handed, (not LINKS). So, what I suggest if find the person/company/entity that you would be buying (possibly of course) the rifle from and have them talk to their DISTRIBUTOR. They can get you one.
-good luck0 -
Again - not looking for a rifle in the US.
Just looking at the options, to find out what would be interesting to persue.
Something like :
The Remington 700 CDL or SPS Compact comes in LeftHand and .243Win - and can be converted to detachable magazine with HS Presicion kit...
Or There's a Remington model XXXX ..........
I was just curious to know, wether it was possible to get all the listed features in one rifle.
Regardless of it being standard from the factory - or a factory rifle being customized with off the shelf parts from other manufacturers.0 -
I didn't say the rifle was in the U.S. I said you must talk to the person you will be buying it from in YOUR country. They will have access to a distributor. If the distributor doesn't have one, he can order one. It may take some time, but it can be done.
Otherwise, you could also check out:
www.cdiprecisiongunworks.com
and,
www.badgerordnance.com
for a detachable, high capacity magazine.0 -
Which is exactly why I'm asking here in "Ask the experts".
I would just like to cut corners and listen to what others have done if they wanted a LeftHanded Remington in .243Win with detachable magazine.!
I was hoping to catch some experiences from people who have made something like this before.
Then I could search to see if it was interesting enough to go on with.
I don't want to go to a european distributor, who makes inquiries and I end up with whatever someone have had in stock for a couple of years.
Because that is what is going to happen if I make an inquiry - that's simple sales tactics. Get rid of whatever you have in stock.
But ok, I'll quit asking any further.
The thread is derailed anyway.0 -
All of the Remington DM's are out of production. The only way we know how to find one is used. However, those tend not to be very weightless. If you can live with something that is not a remington, but a bit better, at the same price, I have a suggestion. These do have a DM, and you can get them in stainless or blue. You never mentioned price anyway.
