Will a Ruger Black Hawk 9MM cylinder fit a NEW MODEL BLACK HAWK 357 magnum?

some blackhawks came as comvertables with both the 357mag and 9mm cylinders these where fitted to the guns at the factory ,

whether or not a 9mm cylinder will fit in a different gun than what it was made for all depends on how lucky you are , some times they will some times they don't

if you do try it make sure you have the timeing checkout by some one that knows what they are doing

A 3-screw cylinder will not fit a new model. And, in my experience, the issue with interchangeability is not timing but the length of the cylinder. (They vary.)

    ambrose has it right.
the cylinders on the new model (post 1973) are slightly shorter, about a tenth of an inch if i remember right. a good smith can take care of the length difference. i'm not sure if the change from colt style trigger to the 2 click new model style will affect timing or not.
ruger will fit a 9mm to a 357 if you buy the new cylinder from them and ship the gun to them for fitting.
cost me 200 a couple yrs ago on a SS pistol.
