How much is a Citori xs Sporting worth

OK... I know that is a loaded question... but have found one at a local gun shop... used, but you cant tell it... looks brand new. Looking at the serial number, it was made in 2002. Lots of great engraving on it and the wood is beautiful and comes complete with the chokes, etc. So how much SHOULD I pay for this gun? Round about figures will give me an idea... right now, I think, based on what I have seen on Google searches, it is priced way too high... but I have no idea... looking for some guidelines from the experts. I have a Citori 525 Field (12G) 28" barrels and this gun is a 12G with 30" barrels. My main reason for wanting to purchase it is the barrel length and ported barrels.... and of course it is a little bit of an upgrade on the "looks". Would love to find a 525 Sporting in a 30 or 32" barrels. But this is close to a 525/625. Many thanks for any info

    Your best bet is to take a look over on the auction side. You will have to register, but look at the auctions for guns like yours. Specifically look at the auctions that have ended with bids and sold. That will tell you exactly what the market is.

    The advice to look on the closed auction side is good and probably your best opportunity to get relevant pricing. That said, I bought one in 98% or so condition with a Browning luggage type case, also 12 gauge with 30 inch barrels, with Briley chokes a year or so ago for $1300.

    Thanks everyone... you have given me some ammunition to see if my local gun store will bargain with me or not. I am not hopeful at this point, they have it way overpriced (based on my research and your input)... they have it listed at $2795... a long way from the $1800 range.

    Thanks again for helping me! I guess I will keep looking for a Citori 525 Sporting in a 30-32" length...

    Well... went down to the gun store this morning to bargain with them... guess what? They sold the gun yesterday for $2550.... amazing... they came out great... the person who bought it paid in excess... but am sure he/she is happy as can be.... thanks again for all the help... kept me from going down in flames...
