Remington Nylon 66 Question
I am just a beginning collector so I am not sure But did remington ever produce a nylon 66 with a Black stock, Blued steel with the White diamond in the stock? My thoughts are someone possibly switched out a Mohawk Stock for an Apache Stock. A distant relative of mine has one and it is dated 1959 but he is not the original owner so he does not know either. Any help would be appreciated.

According to this article http://www.chuckhawks.com/rem_nylon_rifles.htm there was a "Black Diamond" model introduced in 1978 but the diamonds were also black. The article has a lot of information that may help you.

Sounds like a CBC "Black Beauty"...there is one in a local pawnshop for $225 near me right now .... since I shy away from composite/plastic anyway I thought it too high for a clone of a Remington.

Yes I would have thought the same but it has the Remington name on the buttplate and the "nylon66" on the grip plate. Also it has the Remington date code stamped on barrel which is May 1959. Thats why I think someone switched stocks on it. Thats all I can figure. Thank You for your input.

The "Apache" wasn't introduced until 1962 so, if yours is dated 1959, I agree that it's been restocked.0 -
Excellent point Spider7115. Thank you for putting that to rest and thank you for helping me out already a few times in other forums.
