Anyone using the A.R.M.S.18 mount tell me about your combination.

Weaver or Pic rings will fit your ARMS.

    The QRWs will fit fine.

Lots of questions. Is there a difference between a picatinny and weaver rail? I have a A.R.M.S. 18 I am going to install on a M1A. Will the QRW Leupold rings work on it? From what I can find looks like the medium rings and a 40MM objective scope should work good and not sit high on the rifle. Thanks for any help or info.

Great minds think alike .... [;)]

I have the ARMS 18 and QRW rings. The fit of mount to rifle is nice and low, rings fit perfectly on the mount. The thing to be careful of is not just the front but the rear bell contacting the rear sight hood. I use a 1 to 4X scope with a straight tube on a Scout and am not certain if you'll be too low, but I think you'll be fine up front. The rear bell of my scope is 1.52" diameter and clears the rear sight by about 2 credit card widths.

I was hoping to put a 3X9X40 on this setup.

I think you'll be fine with clearance up front but will have to be careful on the rear. If your rear optic bell is greater than 1.52" arount it will be very tight - a rear bell that small of diameter is very much on the smallish side. Most variable scopes will not make that size. IIRC Midway carries the specs on line with each scope.
