AR15 Gas Block Change Question

I am looking for a gas block with at least one rail that I can also use my magpul forearm. I recently obtained a set of front and rear magpul flip ups. I'm thinking I will need something with the plate for the forearm to attach to. Can I just use my own plate from the stock front sight? Not sure. This is for a S&W M&P15 in 5.56. I've looked at Brownells and YHM. Ive never swapped this out before.

  Right from magpul
  
  NOTE: Cannot be mounted to a railed gas block due to excess heat issues.
  Front MBUS must be mounted to a railed fore end on the same plane as the receiver rail. Because of this the sight is not compatible with the MOE Hand Guard.

  Thanks for that. If all else fails, read the directions. For future reference, when changing gas blocks, can you use the original circular plate for mounting the forearm?
