Antique Clay Pigeons

While cleaning out my brother's garage after his death, I found 2 and 1/2 boxes of Black Diamond clay pigeons. I think there are over 300 and I believe they are from the 60's or 70's. Can anyone tell me if there is a market for these and if so, what vaule are we looking at? Any help will be appreciated.

    I dont think there is a market for old clay yet.

    From experience: depending upon the conditions under which they were stored for the past 30 to 40 years - they may be very brittle and would break up when "flung" by a machine. Our trap club inherited a box and a half of old clays - better than half broke up right out of the machine - we tried to shoot the biggest pieces.

    Now if they were MO-SKEET-O (Moskeeto) made by the Bob White Target Co., or similar - 2 3/4 inches diameter with a 1/4 inch lip or edge, the "old clay birds" would be worth something.

    There may be a few individuals who are interested in old pigeons for one reason or another, but my guess is that collectors interest in them is probably pretty limited.

    300 comparable new clay targets might be worth around $35 give or take a bit.

    No idea how much your antique (or "vintage") ones might be worth. . .could be the same, more, or less!

    The best (and probably only) real way to find out is to sell them at auction and see what people bid.

    I recently saw a nicely made homemade bar top that had a thick glass top with assorted clay birds visable under the glass. The bar was in the guy's man-cave. Several sizes of birds of varying colors and a few rabbits to boot. His small Christmas tree was decorated with various colored shot shells with the mini-lights inserted through the primer hole to make red, yellow, green and purple lights. The ornaments were nickel plated rifle brass. Did I mention the guy is a shotgun nut?

    I have a bunch of the old Targo targets. Any idea who to contact about selling them to? Any idea as to the value?
