Did you run your tape down inside the barrel until it bottomed out? Thats what I do.

The plain barrel 25" was first listed in January 1913 IIRC.

The value is going to be in its condition.

    Hello Doug,

25-inches was the standard length for all of the Model 1912 20-gauge guns (as was a 2-1/2" chamber length).

Ok I have done a little more research an found out that Winchester only did 25" bbls the first two years. So the next question is did they make many? Does it greatly effect value?

Flawed information... the 25" barrel was standard well beyond the first two-years. As I mentioned earlier, the 25" barrel length was standard for all Model 1912 20-gauge guns (1912 - 1919).

The 25-inch barrel was standard through 1926, when Winchester changed the chamber length from 2-1/2" to 2-3/4". At that time, the standard barrel length was changed to 26-inches.
