Savage model '1899' info?....
Hello everyone,
I would like to find any information available on a Savage '1899' in '303'Savage, The S/N- (50,901), When I did a search on the savage99.com page, it stated that the S/N put D.O.M. at "1905"? Also, I did remove for end & butt stock, (both have S/N's that match rec.), It has the "Curved Schnoble" for end & Straight grip "perch belly" butt stock, as well as the original "Knife edge dovetail" sight. It also has a 26" full octagon barrel & the "rectangular" cocking indicator. Judging by the model descriptions on "Savage'99'.com", It should be an, '1899-B'. (The only thing that throws me off is that the butt plate is "HARD RUBBER", and not the steel one that it should be.) ...Though not 100% sure, but Granddad may have replaced it a few years after he purchased the rifle. If someone in this forum with any information on 1899's would be appreciated!
Thank you all,
ADAM
