    There should be a model number on it somewhere I would think. Without pictures it will be impossible to tell you anymore about it. Sears Rangers were made by several different mfgs and without pictures or model # not much can be found out about them.

    I did look closer and it is a M34 which, by what I have found on a cross reference guide is a Marlin 100. I'll try to get some pictures up, but does the M34 narrow down a date range?

    If it doesn't have a serial number, it was made prior to 1968. That was when the "Gun Control Act of 1968", federal law kicked in requiring all firearms to be serial numbered.

    sears rangers are from about the 1930's i have sold a couple of them

    From what I have found, it was made between 1935 and 1937. Thanks for the help.
