AR-15 Scopes
So I have a S&W M&P AR-15 and wanted to get either a scope or red dot sight, but I'm on a tighter budget and can't afford one of those $400 EOTech sights. Any suggestions on one that is a little cheaper and still pretty good quality? [?][?][?]

C-More Products makes a great red dot for AR's for less money than a EO Tech. What ever you do, do not buy the knock off EO Tech's or ACOG's that can be found on the web. They are not made to operate on firearms and were built for the softair market.

The Bushnell Holosight is a well made sight that costs approximately half that of the EOTECH.
I have a couple of the earlier ones on ARs, and they currently manufacture one with the same profile as the EOTECH.
Don't see one on the auction side, but a quick google will show you a number of them in the $ 250 - $ 280 range.0 -
my advice is to look into a burris Timberline 2-7x or 3-9x32 with ballistic plex reticle and warne high rings on a .5" burris optics risers..
Dont forget to add a folding rear sight, A magpul moe will fit the bill and be cheap.
A regular set of iron sights will come in hand for indoor use as a defensive house gun.
I'd advise adding a flshlight mounted to the 11 or 1 oclock front of the hand guard.
A good quality light as an option for the carbine is just smart.. A good light that I have used alot if the Streamlight supertac(heavy long range illumination) or the streamlight polytac HP (light weight mid range illumination).0 -

The Bushnell Holosight is made by Eotech. Be very careful of counterfeits. If you search the Eotech website you will find the counterfeit info on both the Eotech red dots and the Bushnell.

On one of my flattop varming AR's, I have Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14x40 Mil-Dot, that sits in Burris Tactical rings. I got the Picatinny Ring caps from Burris too, and added a Burris Fast Fire to the top. It gives me the scope and red dot.

+1 to the Bushnell holosight if you want a holographic sight. Its supposedly made in the same factory as the Eotechs. These run about $220 or so.
At the suggestion of another poster, I got this thing. Its not super fancy, but it holds a zero, the brightness is adjustable enough to see at any light level, and the batteries last a good long time.
Its sort of a poor man's version of an Aimpoint T1, and probably about as cheap as you're going to get for something worth putting on a centerfire rifle.
