Custom 475 Linebaugh

I'm looking for help in identifying a custom pistol I recently acquired. It is a Ruger New Model Blackhawk that was once a 41 magnum and is now a 475 Linebaugh. The barrel is marked 475 Magnum Cal with no other markings. It does appear to be a Ruger Blackhawk contoured barrel, but the front sight is much taller than the usual Ruger sight. The only other markings I can find is on the bottom of the frame at the front. It is a small three pointed shield with a capital B in the center. This marking is also on the back of the cylinder as well as 44. The finish on this revolver is obviously a brushed chrome type finish, but who did this is unknown. If I knew how to post a few pics I would do that. If anyone out there has any ideas please let me know and thanks for the help.

    Tried posting photo's at the Hunt 101 but it says it's not compatible with my device. I must tell you, I am computer stupid.

    Ok guys, I hope I've got this. I did e-mail Hamilton Bowen and he tells me it may have been one of the first half dozen he built when he first got started so I may have answered my own question. However, if anyone has any info it would be greatly appreciated.

    Judging from where you are located, the fact that Linebaugh is near there, and I was just in Cody last summer, I am going to guess Borks Custom out north of Cody on Yellowstone Ave. I know he had a full service shop (and several linebaughs in his case...mr. Linebaugh was actually around town too for the Winchester show) with all required machinery . I do not know if he has a particular makers mark he uses, but since he is friendly with Linebaugh, I wonder if they have produced some guns on a Ruger frame? It's a long shot, but what the heck!

    Thanks for the info, I'll take a look. I should make mention, this gun originally came out of California. I had a friend handling the estate and this is one of three that I picked up. He had another one that I wanted, but was unable to get. It was a Philips and Rodgers chambered in 50 AE. I do have another e-mail in to Bowen with a few more pics to see what he can tell me.

    Well for anyone that does have an interest in what i've learned, Hamilton Bowen has looked at several of the photo's of this pistol and he believes it is one of his very early ones. He tells me the barrel markings, and the hex head screw on the side of the frame, as well as the B marking, are all consistent with his work 25 years ago. They will research it for a fee of 75.00, and I'm assuming the documentation would be well worth that if I ever decided to sell. Whether or not there is any collector interest in these early guns I do not know. If anyone has any ideas, I would appreciate any information.
