If a person only deals in 2-3 CR type guns a year is it to his advantage to get a C&R Licence?

    A C&R license forbids you from "dealing". It is for collecting purposes only.

    That being said, if you are purchasing C&R firearms to enhance your collection, then yes, a C&R license will easily pay for itself.

    I only purchase a few C&R firearms a year but have kept a licence for over 15yrs. The cost of one transfer will cover the $30 fee and you can also get alot of discounts from different online dealers

    You can go to a gunshow or gun shop anywhere in the U.S. and pay for the gun and walk out & put it in your car No chance of it being damaged in Shipping or receiving different gun ETC no transfer fee. In a one word answer YES.

    As stated previously, the answer to your question is a definite yes.

    Spidder when I say deal I mean trade. I did not thank the CR said you could not trade. If you are right you have to keep a gun onced you have bought it with a CR licence.

    You can sell or trade guns purchased under a C&R but only to upgrade your collection. Example...you collect Mossbergs and have several different models, you have a 46A in your collection but you find a better 46A, you can sell the rougher rifle and get a better example. Another example is aquiring 12 Garands and piece together 7-8 correct models and selling the others as excess.
    If you get a C&R and try to use it to just deal guns, they will nail you.

    It may be that the reason a person buys only 2 or 3 C & Rs a year is because he doesn't have the C & R, right? [;)]

    I don't buy alot of C & Rs, but Grafs, Midway and Brownells give very, very good discounts to C & R FFL holders. One or two buys can recover your $30.00 cost.

    I just visited MA, NH & ME and this weekend will be in Reno - I bought one C & R in ME and plan on buying something else in Reno. I've found that having the ability to buy out of state makes it more likely I will buy.
