Hey Guys,
My roommate had asked me to clean up some guns that had been in a flood from hurricane Ike. They were submerged and I got most of the rust of and back to atleast some kind of operational condition. But I am curious about this one. I believe it to be a krag but not sure. it has a couple of stamps on the barrel that look to be british and a 1917 under one of the stamps. A little help if you can from the pics.

  Either Danish or Norweigan. A standard length rifle, not anyones carbine. Better pics of the reciever ring? If a 6.5 mm barrel...Norwegian. If an 8mm, then it's Danish.
  
  EDIT#1: From the latest pics (still not too clear) it is Norwegian. I would guess that a 1917 reciever ring marking would be a type 12/18 but the front end is rifle/short rifle, not carbine. All Norwegian 6.5 x 55 guns are at least pretty collectible. Too bad about this one as that bolt face is really gone, and there is a lot of orange, nasty, deeeeeep pitting that is going to render it a wall hanger I'm afraid. Water does nasty stuff and pretty quickly as you can tell!

  Because the magazine hinges forward rather then down like the U.S. and Norwegian Krags, it has to be a 8mm Dane.
  
  Because of the parkerized finish, plain cocking knob and turned down bolt handle, it's an arsenal rework dating to the 30's.
  
  Not a commonly found rifle in U.S. collections. Pity it got trashed in the hurricane. Clean it up as best you can without doing anything exstream to it.
  
  EDIT #1, Disregard the above, the rifle is a Norwegian 6.5, not a Danish 8mm, my error.
