    craigers57,

Hello, and welcome to the forums here on Gunbroker.com.

It is my suggestion that you go to something on the AR-10 platform. For the most part, for the best bang for the $$, I would go with something in the DPMS line up. I have had aLR-308 that was superbly reliable, and extremely accurate. Kick my own butt for getting rid of it.

If you want something, a cut above, take a look at the GAP-10 on GA precisions web site. Yes it is a little spendy, but not really for the quality you are delivered.

Don't know how much you can get for your house, but I'd consider trading mine for an FNH SCAR 17:

I own a DPMS LR-308 and took a couple of deer and a bobcat with it this past season. I am very happy with it.

That said... I am wanting a Sig 716 when they get available.

I think it may be time for a new 308 semi-auto battle rifle.
Wanted to get ya'lls opinion of a good durable reliable rifle.

    Howdy back, craigers,

Many available options for what you ask.

Being old school myself-- FAL, M14M1A, then AR's. In that order, and though would not part with my AR, never cared much for the ergonomic handling of it in comparision the other two. Not to say it would not fit you?
And the newer other ones mentioned have no experience with, so cannot comment on, but look interesting. Happy shopping.

I have a Saiga in .308 or 7.62 x 51. They are very durable and has digested all types of ammo without a hiccup. I would consider one of these. They are accurate enough for battle work, come apart and clean easily.

I'll chime in on one of the AR10 type models. They like all ARs offer the flexability of multipal uppers. Have your 308win battle rifle and a scoped 260rem or whatever for the cost of an extra upper.

+1 since you already have HK magazines might as well stick with an HK platform.
