PACT Powder Dispenser and Digital Scale

I have PACT digetal set up that isn't working. Apparently PACT went out of business and I need to have the thing serviced. Is there anyone here that knows of a place that can service the items.?

    I went to their web site a week or so ago and tried their phone numbers which are no longer in service...none of the suppliers carry their products anymore.

    As far as I know they are still in bussiness. I have the scale and dispenser too. What is the problem????

    That is the same number that the operator told me had been disconnected. After receiving tour response, I called the number again late Saturday and the recording said "They would be down until Monday For System Mainteneance" so it appears that the "rumor of their demise was a bit premature"...LOL

    If they are, in fact still operating, that is good news since their location is in Grand Prairie , Texas about 30 miles south of me.

    The problem is that when trying to set the dispenser and scale lined up the Scale Light will not stop blinking. No matter how you move the scale to line up with dispenser which indicates the scale's load cell is damaged.

    I am not surprised since it was shipped to me, loose in a box, with styrofoam packing worms...which the owners manual says is a big no-no. It was given to me by my grandson who quit reloading. Typically my Grandson would not think to read the "How to Ship" instructions before sticking it in a box...LOL

    Thanks for responding. Maybe I'll get this thing sorted out and fixed after all.

    Did you hit the calibrate button on the dispenser after setting every thing up. If you have never used this set up before let me know and I will walk you through it step by step. I use mine everyday. After plugging in the two, hit the calibrate button on the scale. It should say cal. Hit no. Then it will say (print) hit no, then it will say trickle, hit yes and the light on the dispenser will stop blinking and stay solid.after this is done hit calibrate on the dispenser and it should start feeding powder. After this is done, calibrate your scale and you are ready to go. I hope this helps you.Oak

    It is all in knowing how...now the thing is ready to go.

    I would appreciate very much any instruction you can give me on how to properly use this equipment. I have never used anything other than manual scales so right now I am a "lost ball in high grass".

    yep, it has to be calibrated first.

    If you go on line you can download the instruction manuals for both the scale and dispenser, that is what I did when I lost my instuction booklets. If you cant find them online, I will copy them and send them to you. John

    Oakie....

    I used the PACT dispenser and scale yesterday to load .223 Rem...I have to say , it is most useful gadget that I have ever used since I started reloading 55 years ago. It never missed dropping 55 grs of Varget ...dead on 55grns everytime.

    Thanks again for your expert help in getting me squared away..it always helps to ask for help from folks that "have been there and done that"....

    Arby, forgive me. I had assumed that you had read the instructions and followed the setup/calibration procedures, but the dispenser still would not communicate with the scale. Teaches me to not assume stuff, huh?

    I didn't want to patronize you by starting from Step 1, but if I had done so, you'd have had this problem solved weeks ago. Again. I'm sorry.

    Rocky...no problem.

    The instructions sheets that came with the equipment were very hard to read since the original owner didn't keep them in a clean dry place, if you know what I mean...LOL...Finally got some new one's downloaded...and son-of-a-gun the thing worked like a champ.

    The problem was that I didn't pick up on the fact that you have to calibrate the scale before you can set up the dispenser.

    In any case, the equipment works great after I got my head screwed on correctly.[:)]

    Also remember that there are TWO calibrations. You can calibrate the scale with the check weights, but you have to calibrate the dispenser with the powder you'll be using.

    I seldom calibrated the scale, to be honest. After a warmup of 10 to 20 minutes while I primed cases or did other stuff, I'd fill the hopper, run the dispenser calibration and just start loading. As long as the scale reads "zero" with the pan in place, I was confident all was well. If I started to get too many "TARE" alerts, I'd sometimes run a scale calibration. But the problem was usually a draft or radio interference.

    BTW, the newer one-piece units don't require powder calibration, only a scale warmup and optional scale weight check. My new Hornady and the SmartReloader model I tested both work perfectly and read dead-nutz on without a scale calibration. Fill 'em and start loading.
