Get the latest issue of Guns & Ammo, it's on the front cover, with the review inside.

I snagged one at Cabela's in KC yesterday. They had gotten 50 of them in and had them on "sale" for $399.99. I got mine for only $360.00 (hehe). I already have 5 extra mags ordered and paid for. Hope the gun does well the first time at the range or I will regret my purchases. I will post a comment about how it performs but the gun magazines have already written them up and done a better job than I can do. They made them sound like the perfect 9mm semi-auto carry gun.

What I like about it is that it is not much bigger than my Ruger LCP .380. But it shoots a 9MM and, maybe more importantly to me and others, has a last shot slide lockback. If I ever need a handgun for self defense, I really, really want to know when it runs dry on ammo. I don't like not having a last shot slide lock on the .380. If it had one, I probably would have been happy with it and not even bought the Ruger LC9.

What I'd mainly like to know is how does it stack up to the $300 Kel-Tec PF-9.

I've shot the PF-9 and its quite nice with a good double-action trigger, and visible sights.

Yes, especially when the Ruger costs a bit more! I also read that the KT holds one more in the mag.

Greetings, what is the word on the new Ruger LC9 9mm carry gun. I realize it's just on market, but before I think about a purchase I'd like to hear the groups thoughts. Thank you kindly.

I frequent a Ruger forum as well as this one--they have already had some issues right out of the box with them. Ruger had issues with SR9's & SR9c's too at first-and there is at least 1 instance of a SR556 Kaboom. The two issues with the LC9 so far are front sights falling off and accuracy issues--granted this is no target gun but 8" off point of aim at 7 yards with various brands of ammo is a little much. Personally I'd wait a few months before buying one to make sure no other crazy bugs show up-the gun has barely been out a month.

Good observation, but if there is something wrong with my LC9, I have 100% confidence that not only will Ruger make it right, but they will pay shipping both ways. I have experienced that more than once in the past. Can't go wrong with that kind of service.
