Miltary M1 Carbine help

Hello Ya'll I picked up a M1 carbine made by Inland, serial number 4560xx. It has a flip sight, flat bolt, push button safety and no bayonet lug. Their is no date on the barrel, i was under the impression all the miltary barrels carried a date. Am i wrong on this? The safety has sw stamped on it. Inside the stock is stamped SA. Does anyone know when this carbine might have been built. Great full for any info on this carbine. Thank you and best regards Beltfed

    The low number indicates the receiver was built in early 1942.

    Not all USGI barrels have a date, but all have the manufacturer's name.

    Springfield Armory made post-WW2 replacement stocks. Your carbine has been rebuilt at least once.

    You may have a B-L-C barrel made by GMC for Inland (Brown-Lipe-Chapin)

    The marking will be BI under the barrel behind the gas piston.

    If you cannot locate any manufactures marks, it may have had an import

    stamp that was ground off with a lathe also removing the Inland name.

    You could have a Winchester barrel, look close below the front sight for a small W or it could be a commercial replacement. The stock is a SA, Springfield armory replacement. Some of the early parts you have are humped and sold for original unless you have some one who knows the carbine very well you will not know what you have in early parts. Most all of the parts on the carbine were marked by the manufactures and you have listed just a few of the parts.
