Cast bullet velocity ?
I am wanting to shoot some hard cast bullets out of my 45 Colt Rossi 92 at about 1400 fps. Is there any reason that the load for the jacketed 250 grain using H110 load will not be satasfactory with my 250 grain hard cast bullet??

good bullet lube and Correct diameter is the Key on if you will get acceptable results a bullet that is under size will lead the bore very quickly . you want .001-.002 over bore diameter. 0 -
I have no data that says it is safe to push a 250 grain bullet out of a 45 Colt Rossi rifle at 1400 fps. I have seen data for the Marlin and Winchester that get close. The Rossi loads I have seen stop at about 1100 fps. 0 -
powder loads for jacketed and cast are usually QUITE different because it takes more pressure to get a jacketed bullet down the bore than a cast leasd bullet. I expect a jacketed bullet powder charge will about destroy a cast bullet's accuracy and lead the bore like crazy.Especially a top-end powder like H110.
but then, the wife says I've been wrong before.
If anyone has contradictory real-world info,I'm all ears.0
