Ruger Security Six .38 Special

Hello. I just purchased a Ruger Security Six and the barrel is stamped .38 special. It is Stainless steel with wood grips and I would rate it at about 90-95% condition wise, according to Blue Book of Gun Values but problem is that I can't seem to find it in that book. Seems everything related to the Security Six is in the .357 mag except for some .38 special police orders that are supposed to have identifying marks such as CHP, BPD etc. Mine has no markings like that. Serial # is 158-08152. Does anyone here have any idea what It might be worth or the history of it? Thanks

    Chances are it's just a overrun from a police contract. If you can't get any more definitive information from our folks, you might consider posting your questions to the on-line Ruger Forum site.

    If you call Ruger Records at 603-865-2424 they will tell you the actual model number and month/year of shipment.It's a Free Service
