Shotgun ID

Have had a Winchester shotgun for 30yrs now, trying to confirm the model type. I think it is a Model 99 or 91 Field over and under single trigger. It has an all black action with no engraving, trying to get a new fore end for the gun but cannot remember the make!! Amazing what 30yrs on does for you!! Any help appreciated

    I have a 16 gauge shotgun, apparently made in Germany, I need ID help. Underside of barrels has a shield with the letters S&D, underneath the letters are a pair of crossed cannon. Over the shield are the letters RECORD. Also there is a crown lying on its side with a straight line, the top of the line has 2GSCHP, under the line is 27GBI. The words Krupp-Essen. On the water table is a crown with the letter U underneath, a crown with the letter W underneath, and what appears to be a Prussian Eagle. Can any one help with this?

    I'd say its a 91. A 99 is a rifle. I've got a 101 that needs a forearm, they were the weak link on that model. The 101's had engraving though.

    The Blue Book has a extensive section on Winchester Shotguns. Per their references there were models 91, 96 & 99 imported and sold. It's possible to differentiate between them by their country of origin, which will be marked if they were imported through commercial channels.


    The Model 91 was Spanish, whereas the 96 & 99 was Japanese. IMHO as the 99 was the basic model without engraving, it sounds closest to your description.
