you might want to look on the "wanted to buy" forum I think Bobski is looking for one like you have. The best way to tell value is to start an auction here on Gunbroker auction side with the better the pictures the more it will bring. Most people with the serious intent of buying fire-arms Do not even look at reserve auctions Because many items have been for sale with an PIE IN THE SKY price for many months if not years . it is too many items to search for the best way to get the most bidders and the highest price is to start with a low price but if you don't feel good about this kind of auction then start at the lowest price you would sell the item for. Todays economy is not the best time to sell but if the Shotgun is in very good original condition I suspect it will bring good $$$ because it is 28 Ga.

just my 2 cents, H&R is not a high priced gun to begin with, though the 28ga is uncommon. that said I have seen them at shows here 150-200 range in good shooting condition..

If you are looking to trade you may consider local gun shows, as the hawkins BP guns are falling in price due to everyone wanting inline muzzloaders now. would seem to be a pretty fair trade to me.
