    An interesting post.

    It seems to me that factory shipping records are not as important as paperwork showing the legal transfer of the rifle from the former owner (the US Government). Absent that, a lot of folks (including the fellas with the bulges in the cheap suits) might assume that the rifle in question had been stolen. Not that I'm saying it was, I'm just saying it's something that needs to be documented.

    If you give us the SerNo, we'll at least tell you if it falls in the range of SerNo's assigned to a government contract.

    At least it's a start.

    As it stands now, it values at the catalog pricing of Remington M-40 redux.

    Does it have a US gov't inspector stamping on the stock? Any stampings at all anywhere on the stock? Thanks, Joe
