Walther Proof Marks

Would one expect to see proof marks on the barrel (visible through ejection port) of a Walther PPK/S built in West Germany (late 70s) and imported by Interarms? Or could the barrel be unmarked?

  Mine was also made in the late 1970's; 1977 to be exact. Through the ejection port, I can see the German Eagle over the letter "N", the letters "HH" (the proof date for 1977), and the Walther antler stamping.

  Mine has the date of manafature of 1974
