Winchester Model 63 - Request Information
Hi All,
As the subject line says, I own a Winchester Model 63 22 cal rifle and would like to know if anyone can tell me the year of manufacture as well as a fair price given its condition I could ask for it. I am a new father of a beautiful baby girl and would feel better not having a gun in our home anymore. However, It is a tough decision for me to make as this gun was passed down to me by a great uncle when I was 15. Any and all help is great appreciated.
The serial number on the gun is: 131640A
Here are some photos:

If any other photos would be helpful please let me know and thank you for your help!

just my 2 cents, but I think that little girl of yours needs to learn gun safety also. Now what better way than with your uncles rifle?? Having had my say,,
as per price around here $300-450 depending on how quick a sale you want.0 -
The condition of the rifle is superb except for the nasty chunk missing from the butt stock near the butt plate.
My guess is that you could get $600+ for it if you list here on Gunbroker.
That said, I agree 110% with hillbille... your new daughter is in no immediate danger from that old Winchester rifle, and it would be a great tool in teaching her proper firearms safety when she reaches the proper age.
According to the limited information I have access to on the Model 63, your rifle was manufactured in circa the year 1955. As such. it should have a grooved top receiver, which adds a premium to the value.0 -
Please do not sell. 0 -
You can buy a cheap gun locker for under $100, set it in a corner of a closet or bedroom to keep your rifle in. That rifle will be worth quite a bit when your daughter is grown. 0
