Preduzece 44, was the Yugos name for their arsenal that made their version of the 98 K. It might also be encountered marked on various earlier rifles reworked in the same facility.

bpwbrad.......the Yugoslav's captured many thousands of 98k's from the Germans and got many more when Germany surrendered. They then ran them through their "rearsenal" process through Factory (Preduzece) 44. Later that same factory made lots of M48's and other 98k like rifles. They are a fertile bed for the "modern" Mitchell Mausers.

Explain what you mean when you say "modern" Mitchell Mausers. Are they still making the K98k?quote:Originally posted by gary wray

bowbrad.......perhaps you have seen the Mitchell ads for their 98k's...they are all over the gun mags. These are reworked 98ks, many of them the kind of rifle we are talking about here, that are put through the Mitchell "shop", modernized, cleaned up, and sold for good money. But the base rifle many times is the 98k from Factory 44, ground down but the Waffenmarks left on. They are what they are.
