Don't mix jacketed and cast, and leave it fouled. Just patch out the powder fouling with a powder solvent and oil. Google "c.e. harris" + "the load" + mattern (for an extra keyword.)

Each layer of crud you remove uncovers a new one, and probably opens some pits in the metal uncovering yet more.

Buy or make an electronic bore cleaner to get it squeaky clean. Just google 'homemade electronic bore cleaner', costs about a dollar, works great.

With cast lead, you could paper patch some bullets too; the paper acts like a very mild abrasive over time, sanding the fouling right out.

Either that or live with a slightly dirty bore.
