what sights fit on a trooper

Does a Trooper Mark III have a proprietary rear sight?
I have a colt trooper mark III. It has a Herters scope on it and the original adjustable rear sight is gone.
Does the replacement need to be from a colt trooper mark III or will other colt factory sights fit correctly?

  Numrich shows the Accro body from the MkIII as being the same as the Python:

  I'd say if it fits the Python, OMM (1953 to 1969) or original Trooper it will fit the MkIII.

  I don't have one here to compare but I recall that a Trooper Mk III uses the same Colt Accro rear sight as Python, Trooper, Officer's Model Match, and Gold Cup. You could probably also install the Elliason sight as a number of us did here on Colts not already equipped with it.
