M14 USGI MAGS

Question Please : Were there any USGI mags ever contracted by the U.S. Govt. for the M14 that DID NOT have any mgf mark on the mag body at all ??? If there were contractors who did not mark there mags, would you happen to know some of the mgf's. Thanking you in advance.

    Off the top of me 'ol noggin, no. All will show Mfr. But, to be sure, access link below. Now, after you have the link up 'n runnin', on the right will be 'free download'. Click on it.

    I think there will be a 2nd 'free download' button to click on after the new page appears. Do so, also.

    What you are doing, is downloading to your computer a [PDF? not sure] file that contains text and photos of everything described in the text. It's extensive, but it will more than answer your questions. Best, and happy trails! Joe

    If they have no marking at all they are chi-com mags and they are junk. GI mags have a stamp that will tell you who made it.

    I've found that some of the marks are very hard to see. Wetting the mark makes the come out.
    Aren't the cni-com mags marked with a star [?]

    Most USGI mags were made by Check Mate Industries, & they are marked C.M.I. They also supplied mags to Springfield Armory Inc, & are currently making them for the US military.

    During the ban, some enterprising folks got a batch of rusty USGI mags, cleaned & reparked them. Because of the refinishing, many have lost their markings.

    Most of the unmarked mags are from

    Taiwan Very Good
    China Usually good
    Korea Usually good

    Be aware there are ChiCom mags with fake USGI markings

    Norinco and Poly Tech M14 mags are not junk, they are as good as USGI.

    the mags i have are stamped
    BRW
    S1 and
    HR-R, and one of them has OM
    but most are BRW & HR-R
    i think HR is harrington & richardson &
    BRW is winchester , but not sure
    OM , don't know

    OM is Olin Mathison, wich is Winchester.

    It is Borg Warner

    And is the most commonly faked mag.
