The gun is what is commonly referred to as a "Trade Brand Name" shotgun. That is a shotgun made by a major maker (and before 1940) for and was sold by a wholesaler or retailer who chose the name to go on the gun. Guns with the name OCOEE were made by the W.H. Davenport Arms Company of Norwich,CT (1878 to 1910). I have no serial numner-year made tables for the name. As to the seller all I have been able to determine is that the name Ocoee is the name of a town located in Tennessee. The gun would have been made using the technology and metallurgy of the times when it was made and for the ammunition in use back then. The gun would have been designed for 2 1/2 inch shells loaded with black powder and lead shot. The barrel may be damascus. My advice is don't attempt to shoot it with any modern ammunition. Value? The value of any old shotgun depends on its condition, the amount of original finish remaining on the metal and wood as well as the mechanical condition. Old single barrels can range from maybe $150 for one in prime condition to less than $10 for a rusty rotten incomplete piece of junk fit only for a fire place poker. Most sell on the various auction sites for between $50 and $95. 0 -
