What kind of factory ammo are you using??? Has some early SSA ammo that I had problems with causing excessive pressure and was sent back to the factory.

One additional question or comment. Do you have the right bolt in this gun?? Make sure that it's not for a 5.56/.223 it may sound stupid but you never know.

Another thing to check is that were 2 different chambers used in 6.8's.
Where did the barrel come from??

Its a Stag Arms barrel, The ammo is Seller & Bellot, the chamber is clean. If you take just the round and drop it in the chamber it won't seat all the way into the chamber.

Well in that case if you got a caliper laying around measure the ammo to see if it's in spec. My guess is that there is a problem with the barrel.

Ya I knew you were gonna say that. I will be calling the manufacture tomorrow.

Mine did have a tight chamber as well and the bolt would close, but barely. I had a Enidine recoil buffer in it and thought that might have some thing to do with it but it wasn't the case. My reloads worked fine, it was a problem with the SSA ammo.

6.8 chambers have an original and a spec II designation. You may have an original 6.8 chamber before the throat was lengthened per the spec II design.
