1943 colt 1911a1 us army
came across 1943 us army marked serial number 901xxx. Some general questions - 1) is gun sopost to be all parkerized? 2) is slide sopost to be numbered to frame? 3) how can you tell if factory rework? 4)is pistol magazine sopost to be blue, two tone or parkerized with letter mark? 5) is barrel sopost to be marked colt? Any help would be nice. Just dont want to get stung as his price isnt cheep. Thanks Mike Ps- from what i can tell has correct markings ( P ; inspector mark ; cross canon ect...) Thanks again for any help here.[:)]

1) yes
2) yes; look under the firing pin stop on the slide
3) None were factory reworked. Most were arsenal reworked; if so, we can tell by comparing it to known originals. Quickest way to tell is to look in mag well for brightly polished staking marks on the grip screw bushings; if staking marks are parked, it's been refinished.
4) Correct mag is blue contract mag marked on lip: R (top & C-R bottom).
5) Barrel will be "COLT" marked with letter on bottom; if the gun's serial number has xxx in it, then the letter should be x.
