Belgian Made Browning 9mm with "Dirty Bird"

I have a Belgian Made Browning 9mm pistol I inherited from my father. This pistol has the "Waffenamts" (aka "dirty bird") on the side of the frame near the trigger, so it was made in German Occupied Belgium. The pistol exterior metal and wood are in G to VG condition, but the bore is pitted.


Anyone know what it might be worth?

    This is actually called an FN model 1935. It later became what is now called the Browning HiPower. There is an abundance of them, but condition is everything. If the frame, slide and barrel all have matching numbers, the value is better. Also, if the pistol has tangent sights, the value increases. Another thing is the specific markings also add value.

    If you can post very clear pictures, your pistol can be evaluated better. If that is not possible, go back to the auction side and go to the top-right corner and log into the "Advanced Search". Once there, you can simply type into the search engine, FN 1935 or Hi Power 1935 and be able to see a variety of guns similar in condition to yours. Look only at the ones which have sold and you will find an "assumed" current value.

    Another thing of great value with these guns is if you have the proper magazine. A split tail magazine is a correct magazine and may be worth about $60.00. But a Nazi marked magazine may be worth $250.00. Also a proper holster with Nazi markings will increase the value by $200.00 or more.

    Typically, in decent condition, yours will be about $700.00 (or more) for the pistol. Add all the extras (magazine & holster) and the value goes up.
